About

Metronome – blending coffee and culture

We’re passionate about sharing truly great coffee, along with quality creative and cultural experiences, with the whole community. Our events are created for the people of Morden to explore and enjoy – without the trek into central London. We’re spearheading an exciting development in the cultural life of Morden, something we hope will expand and grow to become a valuable asset to our community.

Our coffee house design has been carefully considered; with a relaxed interior, featuring a neutral colour palette, step-free access throughout, clear signage with icons, a hearing loop and accessible toilet – we are open to all. Our programme of events is bursting with opportunities to create, explore and unwind. Relaxed events are suitable for those living with autism or dementia and are clearly labelled in our events programme.

Our team enjoy specialist training from Merton Dementia Hub and Autism UK.

We believe that coffee shouldn’t cost the earth… our speciality coffee is sourced from our friends at Old Spike in Peckham who give meaningful employment and training to those affected by homelessness. Ethical, artisan teas come from Teasup who provide a quality whole leaf tea – better for the environment, better for the people who pick, grow and drink it. Wherever possible, our food is locally sourced, with gourmet sandwiches freshly made in house.

We actively protect the environment; our waste is processed by First Mile – where zero goes to landfill. We strive to use minimum packaging and, where we do, we will find the best option for our planet. We take pride in our impeccable hygiene standards and source our cleaning products from Delphis Eco and Bio-D, who use sustainable, plant-based ingredients – friendly to the planet and humans.

Our commitment to environmental responsibility doesn’t stop here – we continually work to improve the environmental footprint of our business.
